We were in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Many, many years ago a pastor went up on a hill overlooking this city and prayed and asked God to give it to him.
He passed away in 2009 but brought 100’s, perhaps 1,000’s to salvation and had a huge loving heart for people. Even though he is gone his heritage continues through his church, his sons, and other churches in the city. Even a Catholic church there has a goal for everyone who comes to them to be brought to faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Abe first came into contact with Pastor Ray Streets Sr back in 1987 when he studied Russian at the university there, so we have a long and blessed relationship.
A very busy but fantastic weekend. Abe spoke in several church services, in a smaller breakfast group, and we had opportunities to meet with different individuals that we’ve come to know and love through the years. And he had a TV interview and a newspaper interview. A very busy time and we are back “home” recuperating now.
Rather than writing long, here are the headlines from the Johnstown newspaper this morning:
Front page. Yes, another attack in Ukraine on civilians. The ongoing war that we all grow so weary of, and yet it is there. The suffering continues. And our hope remains strong in the Lord that through this evil tragedy, many will come to know the Lord. Many people there are seeking God. Last year—they did not. Our hearts cry, but we look for a harvest of souls.

There is always much to write. But I am weary and will leave it at this. Rejoice in the people we get to meet, who love us and care for us, and who pray for us and Ukraine.
And “pray without ceasing”. Whether it is for Ukraine, or for the lost souls in your city. Pray in faith. God does hear and answer—in His time, in His way. May there be a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit bringing His great light into our dark world.
