Tuesday Abe worked all morning packing our bags for Ukraine. We went from clutter to condensed into two suitcases in a couple hours! One suitcase is about a third empty, and we have our two carryons which we will take to England with clothing and necessities. Another step!
Our thoughts continually turn towards home. We have been gone so long. The last time we were away from Ukraine for such a long time was in 1998. Yes, there is uncertainty there, but this is the place God has called us to, nor has He lifted that call. Rather He seems to be reinforcing it.
PRAISE
As we work on finalizing things to leave the US I have come across many financial records. We are so blessed. So many people! So generous! Please note we appreciate your giving so much and will be acknowledging personally as much as possible in the coming months. Please be assured, if we seem ungrateful, it is untrue! But humanly speaking we are indeed extremely limited with time to acknowledge everyone. And for the rest of you—rejoice with us!!
We have some good meetings since I wrote last. We praise the Lord for how people engage and are concerned.
We enjoyed going to a Christian concert last night. It was a nice change of pace and uplifted our spirits. Since it was a dinner concert we talked to people around us. A couple ladies heard Abe talking and came afterwards and asked our names and to take our picture so she could put it on her prayer board as she prays regularly for Ukraine.
PRAYER
We are on the road to Pennsylvania as I write with a meeting at a church we just learned is known as a praying church. Do pray for our car. It started making some strange noises a couple days ago—and our mechanic is on vacation. We return tomorrow from PA and Sunday will start traveling south to Florida stopping along the way. God has been so gracious with this car, but we have a few more miles to go!
Pray for the safety of Andriy and fellow soldiers who serve along the Belorussian border. They received word that saboteurs were crossing from Belarus into Ukrainian territory near where they are. This man has actually served with us faithfully many years driving Abe all around the country. Now he seeks to protect the freedom of his country.
Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.
Eph 3:12 NLT
It’s a privilege to pray. Not only that, we can enter God’s presence with full confidence because—of Christ. Not because we are good or bad or said it right. Because we belong to Him. He is working for our good—even in the dark.
